This was a quick project I was set, It was to test my model making skills in the workshop. The chosen product was a Duracell Daylite torch.

The replica torch tested my skills in several departments within the workshop.

Firstly the torch head, was shaped on the lathe and the groove on hand routed using a hand made jig. I knurled the wood to give the effect of the real thing.

The end cap has also been hand lathed.

The main shaft, is simply a metal tube, primed, sprayed and sprayed again. To create the text on the shaft I used a laser cutter, which was slightly tricky due to the curve of the tube. The face of the head was also very small laser text around the rim.

Although internally there are no electrics, externally was made to replicate the torch as closely as possible.
